Masters Swimming 2005 SCY Invitational
Thanks to Meet Director Conner Bailey and Coach Tom Healy for heading up the event. Thanks also to the Meet Referees and Timing Crew for keeping things on track (the meet ran quite smoothly for being a 200 or so swimmer event). And thanks to all the other volunteers who helped put on the meet, including the Auburn Tiger Splashers for providing block timing. The Saturday Night Social was given by Auburn Masters Swimmer Charles Whatley and his wife Ann at their home. This was a great opportunity to visit with other swimmers while consuming plenty of good food and drink (the beer really was the good stuff). As is typical with USMS events this was a friendly and fun bunch of folks. Competition was extremely close in this meet. In the large team category the point spread was less than five points! One High point category was a tie, and five were won by a margin of 5 points or less. Few will deny that the referees kept a very diligent eye on all competitors! SMS boasted Four Individual High Point Winners, which is certainly a noteworthy accomplishment considering the competition present. The "margin" is the difference between 1st & 2nd place in individual points.
